Fiona Hulbert has very strong connections in Norway. One of her favourite places is in the North of Norway. Dønnes at 66º 11’ 60.00” N 12º 34’ 59.99” E   on the island of Dønna. A beautiful walk takes you to the top of Dønnesfjellet, 127m asl. In the summer, the midnight sun can be seen bobbing along the horrizon and dancing with the island of Lovund. Lovund is the puffin island. Author Fiona Hulbert has worked closely with Ida Marie Carlsen to translate the stories of Peata Ruadh. Ida Marie has done a fantastic job to ensure that the meaning of the stories remained true to the original English versions. She has also managed to ensure that the poems still rhyme in Norwegian. It is quite exciting to think that Peata Ruadh is off on his own adventure in the far North. The Norwegain Peata Ruadh books are for sale at the gårdsbutikken at Dønnes Gård, Dønna, Norway. And directly from www.skerriespublications.com
